Fall in love

November 01, 2017  •  Leave a Comment

I just love dog people. They are my kind of people, so when Jessica asked if she could bring her "babies" with her and her fiance to their session I was SO excited! Absolutely perfect! They even brought the cutest signs as props.

Their love shines through in their session. I wish them the best of luck in all their future years together! Congratulations, guys!!

66 years of love

A local mom' group is a great way to ask for advice, vent, seek friendships and look for services such as photography. That's just where I found this lovely woman, Holly. She posted asking for a photographer THAT DAY. Which seems like a crazy request, worked out perfectly. I was available and I could not pass up the opportunity to work with this amazing couple. Engagement sessions are one of my favorites. The catch is this - they aren't engaged. They've been married for SIXTY SIX YEARS!!! How amazing is that? I just loved spending time with them. You can see their love glowing through their eyes when they look at each other.

Here are some shots from our session.

This lovely family is all because two people fell in love...

Dot Dot Smile :)

Have you all heard of the newest trend for little girls, Dot Dot Smile? Let me tell you how much I LOVE these dresses! They are soft, light weight and comfortable. They come in 3 different types (tank, cap sleeves, or a ballerina style) and an endless amount of prints and patterns. My little princesses LOVED twirling in these. They are easily dressed up for a special occasion and comfy enough to play at the park. Either way they are absolutely adorable.

Each dress is $32, which may seem a little steep - but I assure you the quality of these pieces are worth it! Not to mention that the fabric is so stretchy that my 5 year old could easily wear her sister's dress, so I do not think they will be out growing these any time soon! I had to convince them to take them off a the end of the night! They just loved playing with them on.

I mean just check out that twirl! I want one of these dresses!

If you are interested in checking out these amazing dresses - I recommend heading over to Kristina Altieri's facebook group to check out what she has in stock! She is always getting in the cutest things!

Hot Metal Bridge Maternity

Pittsburgh is such a beautiful city. I love looking at the skyline, watching the boats on the rivers, and taking in the beauty of the many bridges. When I got the opportunity to work with this beautiful expecting family for their maternity session and they suggested the South Side (specifically the Hot Metal Bridge) I immediately was so excited! I've crossed this bridge plenty of times an awed at it's structure, but never did I think about doing a photo session there. I am so glad that they wanted to meet with me and capture this amazing part of Pittsburgh for their maternity session.

Right around the corner from the bridge is an adorable area with a trail. Pittsburgh never ceases to amaze me with all of it's aesthetically pleasing places! Just look at how picture perfect this family is.

Congratulations, guys! The world can't wait to meet your little miracle!

Red White and Blue

As a military family I am just a sucker for the colors red white and blue. Nothing pulls at the heart strings more than some good ol' american mini sessions.

Brooke was such a sweetheart during her mini session and her brother was such a ham! I love working with these two. My daughter came along for the session to help get some genuine smiles, and I think that it worked out well! They thought she was just too funny.

American Cutie

Meet Miss Emma! Her mommy and I have been friends for years and years. It's surreal to take her pictures year after year now. Especially because our babies are only a few months apart.

We celebrated her 3rd birthday with an all american photo shoot (and included her sweet 9 month old brother in a few images too). I just love South Park during sunset. Such gorgeous light and amazing backgrounds.

Enjoy some highlights from our session!

Happy third birthday beautiful girl, and thank you for allowing me to watch you grow! <3

Casey is five!

October 17, 2016  •  1 Comment

It's been a few weeks since I've written a blog post, but I am back to work as a photographer pretty much fully! My knee surgery was a huge set back, but I am progressing every day and hopefully I will be back to 100% and chasing these little ones around soon!

Casey came to the studio to get a special picture for her grandma. She is 5 years old as of last month! I feel like it was just yesterday that this little girl was born and I was in the hospital holding her and awaiting the birth of my own daughter. They have grown to be best friends and I am so happy for the bond that they share!

I couldn't pick just one image to share on my facebook, take a look for yourself and you'll see why. Every single photo shows the energy, spunk and adorableness that this little princess has to offer the world!

Then a few of my personal favorites because she is such a goof!!!

Newborn love ((Pittsburgh Newborn & Family Photography))

August 29, 2016  •  Leave a Comment

I have been staring at a few galleries during the weeks of recouping from knee surgery and thinking about how to write individual blogs for all these sessions. I never realized how many newborns I have photographed until they are all placed in front of me on the screen!

When I started photography 5 years ago I started because my daughter had gotten her one month photos taken at Sears and I waited 3 weeks for them to arrive after I ordered. When the moment finally came and I had the images in my hands I almost cried. What should have been tears of joy from looking at photos that I spent way too much money on were not tears of joy, but of disappointment!! My daughter had a huge red scratch on her face that was basically glowing in every single shot. the coloring was monotone and the quality was just straight BLAH. I decided that day that I was going to learn to master my already beloved hobby and I was going to help people capture images that bring them those tears of joy that I craved.

The time had come. I had finally booked a newborn session! I was so excited. I researched, I studied, I read, I watched videos - but boy oh boy was newborn photography HARD! I am proud to say that I have come a long way and all the hard work and shushing and cuddling and snuggling makes every image worth it that much more!

Enjoy some of the images of these precious newborns from the past few weeks.

Now it's best to schedule your newborn session within the first two weeks of your baby's life to ensure the perfect sleepy squishy photos. Sometimes, though life gets in the way. This little love bug was one month old and with a little patience and a lot of love we got him to "sleep like a baby" and got some great images!

Baby Joey's Fresh48

There are fewer things that I love more than capturing the love of a family welcoming their newborn addition. I love going into a Pittsburgh Hospital (this was Magee Women's Hospital of Pittsburgh) and meeting a fresh new bundle of joy. Baby Joey was just a few hours old and I got to hold and snuggle and squish him! I just love my job! How could I not when this is the cuteness I get to work with???

Big Brother TJ is ecstatic to have a little bro!!

Three generations of love

August 25, 2016  •  Leave a Comment

Three generations of beautiful strong women came to me in the studio to capture the love and growth of their family. Great Grandma was 94 years old and bursting with beauty. I am so glad that my dear friend Maggie and her mother had the idea of this photo session and that they will have these images to cherish for years and years to come.

Do you love Miss Amelia's dress? Margaret and Maggie own Itty Bitty Heart Creations and hand made it just for this photo session! I always look forward to seeing the amazing outfits they create!!
